I then received an email from Sophie at eil.com to say the record had been shipped and

OK, I thought... I had a browse through and selected a couple of press packs that I wouldn't mind adding to my collection. The £5 off would basically cover the postage. So I went through the order process and GUESS WHAT! The £5 was never deducted!
I thought that was a bit odd so I emailed this Sophie and asked what their game was (though I, of course, worded it very politely).
GUESS WHAT!
No response.
By this point, I had already paid for the press packs (about £60). I was kinda livid. OK, it was only a fiver but that strikes me as being very false advertising...
Anyway, after ordering my press packs, I went through and selected that I did not want any marketing at all (which took me practically FOREVER because they feel the need to add you to a shit load of email lists). I very carefully went through it and saved it. So no marketing.
No?
Like fuck.
I got an emailed Black Sabbath list through from a Joe at eil.com. I emailed back to ask why I had received it when I had specifically requested no marketing.
I got this email in response -
After investigating this further i can see that your account was NOT flagged for no mailouts. It has now been done so.
So I wasted all that time suppressing marketing for fuck all?!!
This company are a joke. They wont give me the fiver they owe me (again, principle!) and their own marketing suppression form does not even work!
Guess who will be getting negative feedback on ebay then. Shit customer service does not make up for decent rare records...
*****Quick edit*****
They just phoned me and made it clear they had no intention of resolving this issue! What a bunch of tossers!
